Mammoth Lakes Blanketed with Snow
Mammoth has been blanketed with over 63" of snow since January 17, 2010 possibly making this a record snowfall for January and this time period. 2 - 3 feet more snow is expected through the weekend. It is little 'El Nino" coming as we predicted early in October. Mammoth Mountain is reporting a base of seven to twelve feet of snow and yet sunny skies are predicted once the storm passes over the weekend. This is truly "January Madness!" Highway patrol is out checking each car so you must carry chains or be in a 4WD with snow tires. Do purchase your chains at home as they are less expensive. For the absolute up to the minute Mammoth Weather check all the forecasters in one place. You can get the current Mammoth conditions at 888-SnowRPT. For an audio weather report 760-934-7669. For current Mammoth Road Conditions or use the Cal Trans telephone service at 800-GAS-ROADS. If you want a helpful refrigerator magnet with all these numbers Send us a note
