Mammoth Lakes Ski Resort is Open
Woo hoo! Early snow brings an early open for the Mammoth Lakes Ski Resort. Every year Mammoth Mountain opens before the other California ski resorts, and is the last to close. This is partly because of the altitude of the resort. The Mammoth ski resort main lodge is higher than the top of Heavenly Valley in Lake Tahoe. We're also colder so the snow stays fresh like Utah powder. The Mammoth Lakes ski resort is very large, has 28 chair lifts, and the best groomers around. Every night our fleet of snow cats go out and clean up the slopes so you can wake up to either beautiful smooth cruiser runs, or well manicured bump runs. Yes, many runs go untouched and are "au natural". Average snowfall is 400 inches, but with this years planned El Nino weather, snowfall should be well over 600 inches. A long season for happy skiers and snowboarders. So when you coming up?
